According to the President of NASSCOM, India has emerged as the No. 1 in outsourcing business and it is global in terms of services in United States and the United Kingdom. A growth of USD $17 billion would be experienced by the global KPO business by the year 2010. The Indian share of this growth would be around USD $12-14 billion, as expected by many analyst. Furthermore, IT is regarded as one of the top 5 priority industries in India. IT is also part of national agenda and policies are framed so as to obtain maximum benefit out of IT outsourcing to India. The government is providing great support for software firms by providing all basic facilities required for an outsourcing company to flourish thus playing a major role in contributing to the success and well being of IT outsourcing to India. Indian government policies have been proved boon for the Indian IT outsourcing industry by adopting IT outsourcing friendly policies in the field of taxation, power, telecom, industrial parks, and special economic zones. The government of India has provided excellent telecom, ISP, and cellular networks in all cities and towns in the country. India takes pride in satellite and submarine communication links that facilitate good band connectivity with the rest of the world. Furthermore, Government of India has also directed state governments in creating software parks and IT parks so that more and more IT outsourcing companies can carry out their business. Not only in IT sector, the government is also interested in setting up manufacturing outsourcing centers. These include manufacturing of automobile parts, electronic goods, aeronautical equipments, etc. |
